FAST FACTS

  • 28 year old, Dutch native (Rotterdam, Netherlands)
  • "Soccer for Life" enthusiast as a coach and player
  • Holds degrees in accounting and tourism
  • Married with one child (Divayo)

My passion for soccer started at age 8 and I've continued to play throughout my life. I’ve competed at a high amateur level in the Netherlands, which is comparable with first division soccer here in the U.S. I also learned how to play futsal and was fortunate to be on a team that won tournaments and championships en route to 1st division.

After high school, I went to college and earned a degree in bookkeeping followed by a second degree in tourism. Last year, I relocated to the U.S. with my wife, Linda, and our gorgeous son, Divayo. (who is named after the famous Italian soccer player, Di Vaio). Linda was appointed to a job at The Royal Netherlands Embassy, and I followed shortly thereafter when there was a opportunity for me to work in the Consulate office. We are really enjoying our time here in the US and love the mentality of the people here in Washington.

I ended up at St. John's this season after meeting Patrick Pronk, who was kind enough to introduce me to Colin Lennon. I’m very grateful to both coaches for allowing me to do what I like most - coaching. I started coaching two years ago when the trainer in my club back in the Netherlands asked me and a friend to train the younger kids in our club.

I've been at it ever since and look forward to working with the girls here at SJC to make them better and allow them to have fun while doing so. I strongly believe that having fun is one of the key ingredients to success in soccer, so I’ll try to do so and make sure that they improve their soccer skills.

Thanks to everyone in advance for coming out and supporting St. John's soccer.
