Behind the Scenes with Taylor, Part Two

Reflections of the junior varsity's match at Elizabeth Seton (9/29) as told to WE ARE ST. JOHN'S by Taylor W.

On Wednesday, September 29, JV soccer played away against Elizabeth Seton High. When we first got there it was rainy and wet, but we knew that we would have to look past the weather.  Our starting line-up was planned out very well but I think that we let our guars down in the beginning of the game.

Seton came on strong from the beginning, scoring in the first two minutes. Our play was better after their first goal, but our energy levels could have improved during the first half as well. In the second half, we played with more energy which was a bit more typical of our game.

Our forwards and midfielders took more shots than they did in the first half and communication was better all around. Gina M., our goalie, did a great job of making every save she could, which helped keep us in the match.

Our mid-fielders did a good job of coming back to help the defenders. I think our playing has improved, but we still have time to improve it even more.
